Seahorse Kenya
dolphin and whale watching safaris
big-game fishing
Pemba channel

The Seahorse beach camp is located 50 km south of Mombasa in the stunning and perfectly secluded Maftaha bay. This isolated stretch of unspoilt coastline is an area of outstanding international ecological significance, home to an abundance of flora and fauna.

Dependant upon the season, dolphins, humpback whales, gray whales, whale sharks, dugongs, manta rays and turtles may be seen in and around the bay. At the camp we are frequented by, bush babies, vervet monkeys, monitor lizards, buck and a spectacular array of bird-life.

The camp simply consists of a few luxurious en-suite tents an open treetop level restaurant and lounge, and a beautiful landscaped garden leading to 3 km of deserted beach and the sheltered waters of the bay. A resident French chef specialising in seafood and French cuisine is there to complete your stay.

We operate two main safaris based out of the camp; dolphin express, a full day all-inclusive power boat safari to the Kisite National Marine Park and big-game fishing to the acclaimed fishing grounds of the Pemba channel.

dolphin express

The only full day all-inclusive powerboat safari to the Kisite National Marine Park

Board our purpose built power cruiser and head south for the Kisite national marine park where a variety of unforgettable marine life may be encountered en-route, including dolphins, gray whales, humpback whales, turtles, rays and whale sharks.

On arrival at the marine park guests can snorkel among a cascade of tropical marine life with the possibility of swimming with dolphins, turtles and reef fishes, indigenous to the Kisite coral gardens.

We then cruise to the fishing village of Shimoni where transport awaits to return you to Maftaha Bay for a magnificent seafood lunch.

Time is allowed for guests to relax over coffee and drinks before exploring 'Bird' Island and the world-renowned Gazi mangrove forest by canoe, a 700 hectare national reserve home to 9 species of mangrove tree and several hundred species of birds including kingfishers, bee-eaters, egrets, fish eagles and pelicans.
